    Comments: I think its interesting how Correggio uses mostly neutral and washed out colors for the background and subjects. However there is found an intense repeated use of red and blue. The red found on the clothing maybe could symbolize the bloodshed of Jesus that covers our sins, and the blue might be the water of eternal life that Jesus often spoke of. Who knows. I just wanted to be the first to comment.

    Comments: I went to see this painting at the basilica in Mantua where it is supposed to be, but it was not to be seen. The vestibule was completely empty and dark, and the walls were denuded of the frescoes. Can someone inform me of where it is?
