Comments: LIPPI IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ARTISTS AND PERSONALITIES. I BELIVE THE PASSION WHICH HE LIVED HIS LIFE WITH COMES OUT IN HIS WORKS OF ART. THIS PAINTING IS MADE BEAUTIFUL AND TOUCHING BY HIS USE OF RICH COLOR AND LIGHT AND DARK. IT BRINGS TO LIFE WHAT MIGHT SEEM TO BE A SIMPLE COMPOSITE.

Comments: This peice of art work is magnificent. It has a heart that guide itself into ones soul and create an explosion of light and happiness. The image that projects into the mind is an angel, (considered the Archangel Gabriel), thnking God for the wonderful gift that lay before him on Virgin Marys lap. He is also blessing the child with a gift beyond reasonable lengths of thought from a mortal mind. Because this child is Jesus Christ.

Comments: I find the composition of this work very interresting. The use of the pillar, which does not completely section off the figures from each other, makes a distinction between their ranks. It's as if they truly come from different worlds. Mary sits in a dark corner, her figure only lit by her own halo, waiting and listening tenderly.

Comments: Fra filippo was a brillant man, I love looking at his art. I must thank Anne Rice for bringing this wonderful artist to my attention. One of the reasons I love him is because of his act with that nun, I can not remember her name. He stole her away and she bore his child. I thought it was great. A nun! It's funny!
