Comments: I really like this sketch, it almost seems like the face is growing out of the paper. It gives a feeling of disembodiment what with the rest of the girl being only roughly sketched.

Comments: What I like about this drawing, and his others works, is the fact that he uses such an amazing stroke, even, and precise. Leonardo was not into blending his lines to make them smooth. He showed his trut talent by using this (blizzard of pencil-strokes) technique. Truly a masterpiece!

Comments: I think this sketch is very important because it forcus on her facial features and at the time people had misconceptions of what the human face really was but since Leanardo studied the human body he had a very real perspective on this woman's face.

Comments: I really like Da Vinci's study of an angel. I am glad that he drew something that had to do with God. It also gives a kind of 3D sense to it. Not only that, but it also has a spooky kind of feeling to it, since it clearly shows only her face. The rest of her body seems like it is fading away.

Comments: I think that this drawing by da Vinci was very unique. The way that he brought out the woman's facial fetures were done very nicely. If it were a finished item i would say that it was a remarkable piece of art.

Comments: This sketch is gorgeous. da Vinci's love of the feminine beauty is one no one could even begin to perceive, and he shows this in all of his work. ..outstanding
and to answer the question of "..why does he always draw the hair so flat on the head?" -Well I'd assume people didn't wash their hair that much back then..

Comments: i believe the face looks masculine and also divine due to the fact that the rest of the "woman" is either not drawn intriely or roughly sketched..possibly a figment of da vinci immagination?

Comments: The picture looks almost like a captured image of a sculpture or a person, real and tangible, under a preternatural light. His use of light and dark to convey depth is so amazing.

This sketch is haunting. Its just a face of a model he used.....yet his attention to detail transforms a study into a ghostly image but concentrating on her eyes and face....the rest of her are mere suggestions with lines....shes not a particularly pretty face....but the way he has tackled it subject ha turned her into an alluring, attractive face. The spirit of the woman shines out of her eyes...they seem so sad...yet content.

Comments: An amazing piece of work. It is simple and pure, yet detailed and complex at the same time. The fading features add to the magic of this piece, and the swift sketch strokes, make it feel like a brief moment caught in time,a memory almost. The detail is focused around her face and eyes, establishing a link between her and the viewer. She is captivating, she is yesterday. She is here , but almost gone. Gone but almost here. Spectacular.

Comments: The way she is looking gives you a sense that she is already gone and faded but the smirk of her lips is interesting its almost as if she is about to smile and the eyes are fixed on the viewer as if trying to send a message. Beautiful proportion and stunning symbolism
