Comments: I think these doors are Ghiberti's greatest works. The detail that went into them...unsurpassed. The depictions are so original, so unique. They are just too grand for words. Ghiberti is just truly amazing.

Comments: In answer to Carly Travell...the reason that Van Eyck is not on this site is that he was part of the Norther Renaissance movement. This site is based on the writings of Giorgio Vasari, an Italian.
