Comments: Michelangelo's first attempt at sculpting,'The Risen Christ',was a failure ,because a fault was discovered in the marble. He carved another that was sent to Rome,in 1521,almost finished. It was not considered as successful as his other works. The finishing touches made by another sculpter, did not add to his work, but rather made the statue less impressive.

Comments: Even though this statue was considered to be a failure it was still an influence on another artist. GianLorenzo Bernini, better known for his Baroque style, used the face of Christ as a model for Aeneas in his work Aeneas, Achises and Ascanius Fleeing Troy (1619). Ironically this statue, which was completed when Bernini was is his late teens, is considered to be one of his least impressive save for the face of Aeneas.

Comments: You censored the piece by sticking that rag on it. It is a nude. Show it as Michelangelo intended. Censorship of the arts should never be tolorated.

Comments: Michelangelo was a complicated individual, evidence of this lurks amongst his creations. His work obtained variations of encrypted meanings and hidden truths. His work was not noted for the external attributions but rather for the vibes they possessed. Despite his complexity, Michelangelo has gown down in history as the greatest artist who has ever walked the face of this planet.
