Comments: I'm reading Blood and Gold by Ann Rice, which is a fictional history lesson about the Roman empire, etc. This work in particular is captured beautifully in Rice's vivid descriptions. "Sensitive hands and faces...". It's easy to see why the character Marius, and apparently, Rice, are so enthralled by this work.
